I'm grateful for all the feedback. I GET why people object. That's why we've discussed this interviewing-Conway issue on @ReliableSources. For more on this, I recommend @JakeTapper's answer when Colbert recently asked him about ithttps://youtu.be/sYjJbYyWxUM?t=5m8s …

I agree with
@KenCox: this isn't good enough. Yes, she's a key WH aide. Yes, she speaks to Trump. But she also incessantly, openly lies, and more importantly, you TREAT her lies differently than you do other guests. You let her endlessly pivot. You let her dodge your questions. -
the transcript doesn't show her "endlessly pivoting."
-
In this particular segment, you complimented her out loud (sarcastically, I'm hoping) on her excellent pivoting! That's why your fans (among whom I most certainly count myself) are all comparing this to pro wrestling: we've all seen you dismantle other guests who try to do that.
-
once. pointing out the pivoting is occasionally useful IMHO. i get it if you disagree.
-
What possible use is there in one of the country's best newspeople pointing out a pivot but not pouncing on it? You don't see this near-universal reaction from your viewers about any other WH aide - because with her, YOU seem different.
-
We are smart enough to know what a pivot is. Stop her. Make her answer the question. Don't be a snowflake. I was embarrassed for you. Sad.

Brian, CNN is pretty darn close to pro wrestling. Jeff Zucker admitted it in a forum earlier. He sees the news as entertainment with ppl you root for and against. This is fine, but why not admit that's why you have Conway on? You want ppl to hate watch, right?
-
Brian, you need to do your research. Jeff Zucker mentioned how much he loves ESPN's First Take. He wanted to model CNN's political programs around the same show model. "Political Hot Takes" are a rating bonanza and CNN leads the way. Truth be damned!

At what point is her insight actually valuable if you can’t ever really know whether she’s lying or telling the truth?
-
At no point is her insight valuable. Infotainment vs news

If she lies (and she does) and CNN knows she is a liar (which it does), then having her on does not move the conversation forward. CNN's biggest flaw is inviting on the pot-stirrers solely for drama.
-
Exactly!

I don't think she represents the POV of many Trump voters....she shapes the views of many Trump voters...It is called propaganda!

I think “POV of many Trump voters” is where you lose people. Many Trump voters believes her lies because she’s given a platform to spew them. “Mueller is corrupt” isn’t some inherent cultural divide. That said CNN is not the real/primary platform, Fox, talk radio & Sinclair are.
-
Exactly. What about “facts first?”

Brian, you’re rationalizing. She runs circles around you. Have her on for 25 minutes. Hand her 3 unassailable CNN political stories. One at a time: Is this one real? This one? Then dissect 3 blatant lies she’s told. Call them LIES. DO NOT RELENT. DO NOT MOVE ON TO A 2ND TOOIC.
