Dishonesty has been a cornerstone of our government since the beginning. It’s only now taken center stage because it’s no longer being hidden. There’s good and bad in that level of transparency I suppose.

Hidden or not, the level of dishonesty in the trump WH has never been as high. Presidential historians--who know more on the subject than you or I--are clear on this. The trump WH is the most dishonest and corrupt regime in the history of the presidency. https://www.vox.com/2017/11/16/16643614/trump-administration-corruption-russia-investigation …pic.twitter.com/YObDKaJZ8v
-
But we need not look to historians on the subject. Anyone w/any sense of US political history knows there's never been a WH arguing 'alternative facts [aka lies] are facts, just different.' Doesn't matter if that statement was made by a surrogate. trump never disputed that.
-
trump lies multiple times every single day, and when confronted w/proof of his lies by a reporter he dispatches the reporter and bars him or her from the WH. Moreover, trump BRAGS about lying. Audio:https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2018/03/15/as-he-prepares-to-face-mueller-trump-boasts-of-his-ability-to-lie/?utm_term=.ea229e4801ef …
-
There's no question that all presidents have lied. But the scale of trump's lying is unique in presidential history. Other presidencies have had scandals. But there is no president who has ever produced the depth, breadth, scope, and simple numerical volume of trump's lies.
-
Corruption is RAMPANT in trump's WH. Try searching trump White House corruption https://www.google.com/search?q=trump+white+house+corruption&client=safari&rls=en&ei=9SD3WsvWH6esjwTMzKI4&start=20&sa=N&biw=1205&bih=784 … and/or trump mafia ties https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=trump+mafia+ties&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 … I've lived nearly 70 years and have paid attn to politics since the Johnson admin. Even Nixon wasn't as corrupt as trump.
-
Indeed, this belief that trump's dishonesty is 'normal for presidents' is at the center of the problem. At least before trump, presidential lying was considered an outrage. The attitude toward trump's lies, like yours, is 'oh well, all presidents lie.'
-
That is said by the same people who would have had Obama out on his ear in 2 seconds flat had he been caught w/less than 1% of the level of trump's lies. If Dems said in response, 'oh well, all presidents lie' about any Democratic president, the GOP would be apoplectic.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

One of my favorites. Never more true than today.

Love the exact words, so poetic! "Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, 1/3

#MLK said basically the same thing. Intellectual dishonesty in protection and preservation of segregationist policies and practices that protect white supremacy in both political parties is detrimental to preserving the democracy America claims to be.https://medium.com/@mikegreen/charlottesvilles-root-cause-5a9fa5748f39 …Thanks. He's absolutely correct. Watching all this unfold from north of the border, I'm astonished at the decline of the USA's reputation on the world stage and the seeming willingness by the
@GOP and voters to normalize it all
