To be clear, the NYT never used the terms "AWOL" or "missing." The story said Pompeo was flying to North Korea, and explained why the trip's timing "perplexed" European diplomats. But http://FoxNews.com  SAID the story was about Pompeo being "AWOL," so...https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/994345813064192012 …

The Failing New York Times criticized Secretary of State Pompeo for being AWOL (missing), when in fact he was flying to North Korea. Fake News, so bad!

I may be misremembering, but I also thought the Post story about Melania mentions the rumor about her not living in the WH only to saw it away and dismiss it.

Did you read the article? They clearly state Pompeo was flying to Korea, but that European diplomats were having a hard time getting answers about the Iran deal, because Pompeo was elsewhere. Not AWOL. Doing other things. AWOL is nowhere in the article.

Awol means absent from one's post without intent to desert. Pompeo was absent because he was going for the hostages. They were perplexed that he couldn't postpone his trip one day, but getting the hostages has urgency.

Fact remains timing was poor from a world perspective. After months, hostage issue was not critical timing. Also fact remains Trump misquoted Fox News without actually reading the article in question

Agreed! Critical timing as Drumpf needed the photo opp before getting ready to play another game of golf (poorly). And Melania wanted this in the middle of the night as another excuse to keep Dimwit Donny from fouling her.

The saddest part of your tweet is you don't even realize how ridiculous you sound. @POTUS met released hostages when most people were sleeping. Obama wouldn't have done that--gotten them released or missed sleep to meet them.
