In even more chilling version of Sinclair's directives to anchors, @NBC reportedly pressured female staffers to sign a letter backing Brokaw and then sent a memo to anchors urging them to report the letter on-air. You're still refusing to acknowledge employees felt pressured to sign for fear of repercussions. Why? Brokaw was accused of sexual harassment and they pass around a letter to support him, then later report on the letter and his "support." Not troubling?pic.twitter.com/3XR371fpM2

I hope no one felt pressured to sign. I don't have any of my own reporting that indicates there was pressure to sign. The reporting effort continues. BTW: Most women at NBC have NOT signed the letter. Does that mean anything?
-
It sure does mean something! It means it is even more suspect for NBC to tell anchors to report on the fact that 60 women HAVE signed.
-
Last time I counted, it was 115, not 60. Mentioning the letter in NBC's coverage is a normal example of "balance" to a story. Also worth noting: NBC's newsroom has taken the allegations seriously and covered the story thoroughly
-
I'm citing the NBC memo which told anchors to mention "more than 60."
-
Well the letter went from 60 on Fri to 115 on Sat. My Sat story said 115. So I guess NBC News didn't do a good job "coordinating" and "pressuring," cuz Monday's memo had way outdated information.

Nope, I said his rants are a "gift to racists." There's a difference

“Revving up your hate machine?” She expressed concern about NBC’s efforts to discredit a woman who said she was victimized by Brokaw. This is how the Harvey Weinsteins of the world are enabled and protected. You’re part of the problem. Disgusting.

More lies and partisan fake reporting from the highly partisan Brian Stelter. History will look back and weep on his tenure at CNN.

I’m already weeping.

"Include portions of Brokaw's denial, his email and the email in support of him signed by more than 60 female colleagues." That seems normal to you? That they instruct staff to specifically ref female colleagues' support but doesn't instruct to include accuser's interview?
