Yes, I wrote a new story about The Dinner. It's about the future of the event and the @WHCA in the Trump era. Here's what incoming president @OKnox sayshttp://money.cnn.com/2018/04/30/media/white-house-correspondents-dinner-debate/index.html …

The #1 thing they can do to repair the damage is apologize for that stupid letter they sent out — and also apologize to Michelle Wolff.

I'm confused. People at a dinner celebrating the First Amendment are critical of a comedian exercising her First Amendment rights? What am I missing??

Nobody has yet mentioned the salient fact that the @whca does not *have* to hire a satirist. There are plenty of Jay Lenos, Jimmy Fallons and Dennis Millers who would have entertained gently. If you hire a Minhaj, Colbert or Wolf, you're asking for some hard truth.

Maybe just Kenny G next year. No words, just soothing music coming out of whatever that thing is that he plays.

Sad to have to make changes to a dinner because the thin skinned bully in chief gets his wittle feelings hurt. I guess we’re still good with him being a racist, committing sexual assault and flat out lying to the American people? 1st amendment is for everyone.

I’d happily take the high road if it wasn’t complete hypocrisy. Trump says whatever he wants with no consequence and a comedian who is paid to make jokes gets everyone’s panties in a bunch. You can’t have it both ways.

I don’t really think he has paid a price with his base. They blindly follow without regard. A lot of what was said was harsh and I disagree with someone who goes after someone’s appearance. SHS didn’t deserve that. I personally feel Trump has gotten away with much worse.

I may be wrong but I believe the reference to her and a character from The Handmaids Tale was a reference to her looks. I could be completely wrong as I’ve never seen it I’m just going off of what I heard.

You are wrong. Aunt Lydia is a horrifying woman whipping literally into accepting their role of second class citizens. And trying to convince them it's an honor to be raped once a month.

The old purpose of this dinner was to give the president a chance to bite back. If he is the major biter there is no counterfoil. Trump broke the rules long before the dinner. Not vice versa.

WHCA is widely admired in China as a symbol of press freedom in America. If it changes to a hail to the chief event, then you might as well stop it. Chinese people can always watch CCTV for that

I believe what the WHCA should accept is that not changing the dinner for the sake of a president (ANY president) is more important than some passing criticism. And BTW, a president who can't stand up to a little roasting is a coward. Journalists shouldn't be.
