Agree/disagree? Trump swears the media is at war with him... and stand-up performers at the #WHCD help his allies say "he's right." http://bit.ly/2jibD5D pic.twitter.com/K7rTp80Jon

a stand up performer is not the same as the media. if 20 minutes can undo all of the media's efforts, how good can you be?

Brian... just before I unfollow you, I need to say: You are the problem @michelleisawolf was pointing out. Not the royal you, or the @CNN you, but the actual YOU. Brian Stelter. We remain in search of real journalism in 2018, we won't find it at the rotten apple farm that is @CNN

is the role of serious journalists and the WHPC to think about "strategy" against an autocrat who eschews the free press and threatens to jail reporters? Or is it to just report the news and let the comedians do their thing as Stephen Colbert did with George W Bush in the room?

Yessssss!!!!!!! She should be praised for telling the truth. And if the WH press corps can’t see that they’re worse off than they were with W Bush, then they should find different lines of work.

It's one thing to find Michelle Wolf funny. It's another to think that raw humor that's great fun in a comedy club is appropriate for a nationally televised event that salutes journalism, students and the First Amendment. No other event with that mission would spotlight raunch

The response to Wolf shows us pretty clearly that journalists don’t really support the 1A, only milquetoast imitations of it.

So he leads the crowd in booing the word "Hispanic" and gets an apology for jokes where the only victim was propaganda. Seems worrisome to me Brian.

Michelle Wolf's speech at the #WHCD is unifying those who want to see an end to the white supremacy/nationalism, sexism and ableism of @realDonaldTrump. She spoke truth to power.

The sad thing is that @margarettalev is so concerned about "playing into Trump's hands." That's a victim's mentality. Stockholm Syndrome. We'll behave - just don't get mad, please. This is how fascists take control. Read history. Chamberlain is the best example. So sad.

Capitulation to bullies always ends badly for those who capitulate. Talev thinks if you give a little, the bully will be satisfied and be your friend. That's foolish. He'll just see how weak you are and hit harder - hence Trump's response. Our DC press corp is cowardly.

Umm, but ones a comedian and ones a President....no wash, one is worse, the other is doing her job as a comedian. Thanks for trying to normalize the Presidents insults of Americans to that of a comedian.

I disagree. I think that if the media had been doing their jobs right along, asking harder q's in press briefings and calling out the lies, then she wouldn't have had to do their job for them.
