Should a comedian be held to the same standard as the president? Just because they’re both elected officials?

I wish there was a line. Trump destroyed it. So as long as he’s in office, there is no more line. Trump wants to bare-knuckle box, then whines about getting stung.

@AshaRangappa_ reminded me earlier that we need to stop comparing a comedian to the PRESIDENT. No false equivalencies - only 1 of them was elected to uphold the constitution ( and it’s not@michelleisawolf ) and lead our country -
I thought her performance lacked the subtlety I prefer in political humor, but it was no tougher on people than a Trump rally & she has no power over the military, USIC, or Justice Department. There is only one person responsible for destroying the traditional rules of propriety.

What, exactly, do you perceive to have been her crossing “a line,” Brian? I really do not understand what she did that was different.

Michelle Wolf is a comedienne, Trump a supposed leader! Who should be the one to NOT cross a line?

I wish you guys would be this vigilant on all of the corruption going on with this White House. Ask yourself, How is Scott Pruitt still running the EPA? See, you guys found another shiny object to divert attention. Cable news keeps redrawing the lines!

Maybe comics shouldn't be invited to speak at this event. They can be brutally honest but hysterically funny! Michelle was tough on everybody. I appreciated her jokes. She's not like that bully in the WH.

Ms Wolfe's role last evening was that of the court jester. She spoke the uncomfortable truths to the powers that be, including, especially the fourth estate. Given that this administration hears no one but themselves and Putin, the fourth estate would do well to listen.

These folks held the line back in late 1930 when Chaplin tried in vain to use comedy to avert disaster.pic.twitter.com/DuzTB1tCLC

Can we see the clip from last night of Trump jeering a crowd into booing a critically ill war hero, that has served his country proudly for decades.

perhaps it is also a fair question to ask why it took an entertainer's routine at the epitome of a navel-gazing inside-the-Beltway fuction for you to make this such a hand-wringing issue?
