        Insulting & demeaning the media is dangerous for any democracy. (It's a tactic autocrats love to use.) Mr Trump's fans cheer whenever he does it; they don't realize sowing mistrust of the press is mainly good for him, & bad for the rest of us.

        Yes & no. This has been going on for 300 years. But Mr Trump weaponized it & persuaded folks that the media are liars (except for Fox News, which, ironically, IS part of the media). There are many great reporters, & I trust them more than I do Mr Trump.
