Only 37% of Republican voters say the news media is "an important part of democracy" vs. a majority, 51%, who says it's "the enemy of the people," via new Quinnipiac poll today.

Any chance those poll numbers represent citizens with legitimate grievances? Any chance at all?

Come on, Brit. "Legitimate grievances" is STILL closer, for reasonable people, to "important part of democracy" than it is to "enemy of the people." The latter is anti-republican (small 'r') insanity.

The result was expected because of the stupid poll question. When given only these choices, ppl who have REAL concerns about the media’s approach for the last 8 years compared to now just don’t believe the press has acted on behalf of democracy. so the “enemy” was best choice

Until 20+yrs or so ppl were generally disposed toward trusting media. "It's in the papers, it must be true." Modern mainstream media has squandered that trust, and must work to get it back. This is not how to do that.

Politicians began attacking the media at least 30 years ago, I’m 47 so that’s as far back as my memory. I was a faithful listener to Rush Limbaugh at the time. For years my desire for journalism was directly tied to my political allegiances. It seems to have gotten worse.

The media aren't anymore, citizens using social media are on the ground getting information, all that's happening is the media is repeatedly being proven to provide dishonest narratives misusing the trust built up, now when faced w/change, they double down on dishonest clickbait.

The AP literally just got caught with their fake "fact checking" of Trump on Kim Jong Un and South Korea's "denuclearization" pact, they said Trump was wrong. He wasn't.

Thing is, we're talking about 2 hours. TWO HOURS. Back in the days of real journalism, that was a nanosecond compared to now. Get the story right before you put it out there. I remember those days, and I trusted media back then.

I swear, I try to remain open minded, but this crap drives me over the edge. Ethics is out the window now; it's all "How can we destroy this administration". I'm over it.

This is the worst I’ve seen it. But those in the media with TDS would still jump at negatives without confirmation with any GOP Admin.
