If social media would have been around back then to the extent it is now, we would have seen it was just as polarized.

You're right to some degree. The distinction that increases the divide, in part, is the exponential Twitter induced propaganda and the Roschach test of a president blaring into our conscienceness each day

Idk the right,s unwarranted hatred for Obama was pretty severe. Could you imagine the hate if Obama treated the right the way Trump treats liberals? They'd have already seceded from the country.

Delusional. People that disagreed with Obama were called racists. You were not allowed to have a different political stance.
-
Many were (witness the Tra Party).
-
If true, then it still can't compare with the DNC (witness slavery, Jim Crow laws, high unemployment in DNC districts, etc.)
-
Me: Witness current events You: Whatabout 50 years ago? 150 years ago?
-
Me: wondering why you are avoiding my comment on what's been done in DNC dominated inner cities in the last 50 years. You: pay no attention to any history. It's devastating to my narrative!
-
Because there is no such thing as “DNC dominated inner cities”.
-
Your right. Places like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore and Camden have done such a great job despite electoral dominance
-
DNC stands for “Democratic National Committee”, which is the Democrats national office mainly used for fundraising, setting up conventions, and establishing rules. It has zip to do with inner cities. How can you not know this shit?

The Obama years were just this partisan, as were the Bush years. Trump’s explicitly white nationalist message is the real difference.

Pretty sure McConnell took anti to a whole new level when he made it his policy to not pass anything Obama brought forward no matter if he agreed with it or it was just right.
