You are missing the point. No one is blaming Hannity for consulting with Cohen. The issue is his failure to disclose his conflict of interest when defending Cohen on his show.

Journalists are supposed to disclose when they have a relationship with their subject that might influence their reporting/opinions. This is not controversial. Especially when, as here, it’s possible what happens to Cohen could impact Hannity directly.
-
The fact that things like that have to be explained to people! Ignorance is how democratic values erode into populist tyranny. People who totally take their freedoms for granted.

Yes the right of privacy but you owe your audience transparency. What you did and FOX condoned should make everyone question your and the network’s credibility and ethics.
-
If he did something wrong—prosecute him. But u, I, and everyone has the right to speak to an attorney and it being private. If not, let’s open all lawyer’s records! Obama, Clinton’s, everyone’s is fair game. This is what is at stake here!
-
Not questioning his right to speak to an attorney but just last week Hannity attacked and ranted about the FBI raiding cohen’s office. He should have come clean on the fact that he had a relationship with Cohen.
