So why put him on live TV all the time where he can do this? "He's news" is no longer good enough.https://twitter.com/brianstelter/status/981969091429851136 …

Trump is spreading disinformation: "In many places the same person in California votes many times. They always like to say, 'Oh that's a conspiracy theory.' It's not a conspiracy theory. Millions and millions of people..."

Did CNN air the lies later? Broader point remains...

While I adamantly agree that putting Trump on live tv allows him to spread lies in an official manner, not putting him on live tv gives the networks the power to censor the speech as it deems appropriate. Neither option is good but the later is obviously worse.

It isn't censorship for news organizations to decline to give live coverage to people they know are going to lie brazenly. Trump has all kinds of ways to get his message out without their help. Of course they should cover what he says and does on major issues, based on facts.

I understand your argument but "he is the president" and who gets to decide what are the facts? I think the onus is on the news media to offer counter arguments from other officials armed with factual data. Too often the media just offers anchors & pundits to counter.

You appear to prefer the media as it works today. That isn't how it should work. We disagree, but thanks for conversation.

I don't necessarily prefer media as it is today but I see a more nuanced debate between censorship and official speak from the office of the president. Trump regularly campaigns when he announces a new policy and often lies but I'd rather trust the audience to make the decision.

I'd like to see the media, local, national and cable, rebuke the lies with verifiable facts not other pundits. In the case of campaign sources, the media should indeed stop live coverage. Media responsibility in this era is not simple. Thank you for the opportunity to debate.

There were entire Hillary events you didn’t even air, live or not. Same with Obama even after he was president. Just admit cnn needs to stop airing *any* of this stuff. You guys literally showed his plane landing and an empty podium.
