That was your take away from this Tweet? Someone accused of sexual harassment is comparable to a careless tweet on Twitter?

She put a lot of care into being a disgusting person, it was a lot of things - but it was by no means careless

Do you think that Ingraham’s conduct encouraged students to speak?
-
Amendment Uno works both ways. You have free speech, but you also have to suffer the consequences of it, which include the free speech acts of protest and boycotts. If money is free speech, then folks are speaking quite loudly.

There is no slippery slope. People have a right to say what they believe. People have a right to buy what they want. Or not buy. Slippery slope is a bad metaphor which is coloring your thinking.

Just read this, and I still don't really see the slippery slope. She didn't get boycotted for her ideas, just for her attacks on children.

I agree! Pointing out to advertisers the insults to shooting survivors is information that should be known. Advertisers deciding to pull ads is their right. If it was for her beliefs she’d have been boycotted ages ago. The tipping point came with school shooting insults.

Boycotts require more than just one person’s whim. They require a critical mass of people standing together with one voice and saying, “We find this unacceptable.” Also, no one is entitled to a tv show under the 1st Amendment. Her rights are in no way being infringed upon.

The boycott slippery slope is by far the lesser evil compared to all this Sinclair, Hannity, fake Russian stuff going on. SOMEONE has to stop it. Legit media is powerless. Congress and the WH certainly won't help. Who will? We are doing things for ourselves now b/c we have to.

Boycotts are one of the few tools available to express concerns about person’s demeanor and actions for which they should be held accountable. Slippery slope sounds too much like NRA tactic for not implementing sensible reforms. Same is true here.
-
You couldn't see the irony if it was stapled to your forehead. I'm sure you feel the same way about the first amendment and "hate speech"

I disagree with your take on the boycotts and I wonder how much your own position as a media personality shapes it. (Not being facetious, but this is literally your backyard, your livelyhood which means it can have an effect on your view.)

In the spirit of MLKs memory...boycotts are bad and a slippery slope. Imagine what today's journalists would say if they had been alive in the 60s
