Has anyone actually watched that Sinclair ad, or are they just going nuts for the sake of it? Because if @brianstelter read that ad word for word, nobody would perceive it as pro-Trump. It's an apolitical rip on social media news.https://www.dailywire.com/news/28943/media-go-nuts-after-sinclair-local-hosts-all-read-ben-shapiro …

The media coverage is quite heavy on this. And what do you mean "being force-fed to viewers"? When you read a CNN slogan like "the most trusted name in news" at corporate behest, is that "force-feeding"? Serious question.
-
BTW, I wasn't targeting you. I was picking your name out of a hat, because it wouldn't matter who read that text -- that's the point. It's not political.
-
It's not just that they are making local anchors read this who don't want to, Ben https://theconcourse.deadspin.com/how-americas-largest-local-tv-owner-turned-its-news-anc-1824233490 … It's that this is the same media group who did business w/ Trump, and these talking points are eerily similar to hishttps://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/trump-campaign-sinclair-broadcasting-jared-kushner-232764 …

Never mind the porn star and playboy bunny - when a POTUS blatantly manipulates the media in exchange for access to the WH, and actively promotes the failure of successful private businesses (e.g. Amazon) - the future of the country is bleak.

That's a really cute GIF!

Force-fed?
-
Exactly! What the hell does "force-fed" mean? When
@brianstelter says "the most trusted name in news" at corporate behest, is he "force-feeding" viewers? -
And watch MSNBC this morning. Some people are going nuts over this story...though to be fair, CNN is not responsible for MSNBC.
-
Yeah, I'm trying to find the big issue here. Sounds like a pretty non-partisan clip. Deadspin puts it all together like that and it sounds creepy, but that doesn't change the meaning of the statement
-
There are 2 issues: 1. Media concentration: I dont like it. 2. Partisan use of the media: LOL. As if the mainstream press hasn't used talking points to have a common message. But the message was...meh.
-
Given that a lot of people believed it was coming from an anti-Trump place, as propaganda it wasn't especially effective. People should understand what propaganda is trying to say.
-
In the interest of self-promotion, I wrote a big thing about Sinclair last night. A little about the script, more about their holdings and reach and so on.https://ordinary-times.com/2018/04/02/owned-and-or-operated-by-sinclair-broadcasting …

I think your second to last paragraph nails it: Local TV is dying a slow, steady death. If people don't like this, that process will quicken. If they are ok with it, it will slow. In the era of the internet, this matters far, far less than it used to.

What's wrong with the ad, other than multiple stations repeated the same thing? Sounds s little like CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/PBS/NPR

Like how CNN and other liberal networks have been force feeding the Trump/Russia conspiracy theory to America for the last year and a half?

Absurd. The amount of "this is dangerous to our Republic" statements from the Left this weekend were substantial. And Ben is right. This is no different than the "journalism is righteous" mantra you people espouse on a daily basis. The outrage is political.
