Trump is ignorant and his cray cray is on full display again this morning
If only Walmart got same press.
Does he think he can intimidate Bezos and the WaPo? Idiot President.
The point is that this President has abused his power to obstruct justice ( #RussiaGate ) and is now abusing his power with a personal vendetta against and American business. Both should be impeachable offenses.
Trump is correct,Amazon are putting small comp out of business and not paying enough taxes,
USPS, from a worker and customer perspective, has its problems. But it's not losing money. The "losses" only appear given how they've had to report the 70 years of retirement liabilities they were forced to pre-fund by Congress from 2005 to 2016.
Framing it to say USPS "can't afford" its retirement obligations is nicely pro-privatization and anti-worker, though. No company other than USPS has been forced to pre-fund every retiree who will ever exist in living memory. It's an insane demand.
But it plays well into the hands of USPS Management and Congress, who both have incentives to fully complete the privatization process that started when the Department of the Post Office incorporated as USPS in the 1970s and share an interest in crushing the postal unions.
