I think claims by every politician should be treated with similar skepticism we're seeing for Trump's claims. Politicians lying or not telling the whole truth is extremely common and has been forever.
Spinning to make the facts help their case better is as old as Democracy. Lying about crowd sizes in the face of photo evidence is new.
I wouldn't argue for less skepticism of Trump. Perhaps more skepticism of others would be good, though.
