Facebook tried to get out ahead of the NYT and Observer investigations. The reporters were ticked off, and the trick didn't work. Details in @ReliableSources: http://bit.ly/2FWk0gY pic.twitter.com/6CMcRYNb5G

So were they supposed to wait for the story to break and THEN ban them? Since when is the media the authority? That's a little ass backwards don't ya think?

To Ben's point when he schooled you yesterday, everything is blockbuster this or bombshell that to the point that the public has a tin ear to your chicken little act. FFS, dial down the rhetoric and just report.

Facebook Google C.A. are like shoplifters re stealing users' personal info. Just bc the merchandise was within reach& no one was looking, they grabbed it. Public's ignorance &trust were exploited& abused. Had they asked us for permission for what they did, we wouldn't've granted.

Didn’t ban all the Democratic companies though did it? Of course not. More reporters going after Republican firms completely ignoring Democratic ones doing exactly the same. Not to mention Facebook itself tried to influence us.

Seems to me that if people are stupid enough to take Polls on FB and answer questionnaires with personal info they deserve to get their info spread. Anyone can look on your page and see your likes and friends.

And the reason this is not a big story on CNN? To hard to explain? Having your data given illegally to a company is not glamorous or salacious enough for CNN?
