Scoop: Sinclair has a new promo campaign. Local anchors are required to read this script. It sounds a lot like pro-Trump propaganda.http://cnnmon.ie/2IasimX

        1. Beware of the FCC under Trump and its new nefarious head Agit Pai (destructor of net neutrality infamy). Mr. Pai recently changed FCC broadcast ownership rules to pave the way for right wing Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBG) to acquire Tribune TV stations.https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/14/us/politics/how-a-conservative-tv-giant-is-ridding-itself-of-regulation.html …

        2. Sinclair would reach 70% of US households if the deal goes through. Sinclair forces local TV stations to insert right wing propaganda into news broadcasts. It is dangerous bcuz generations have grown up trusting their local TV news & news personalities.https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/aug/17/sinclair-news-media-fox-trump-white-house-circa-breitbart-news …

        3. People need to help block this acquisition. CALL your Senators and Representatives. Stop Sinclair from acquiring Tribune TV stations under Agit Pai's "new" TV ownership rules. You think FOX is bad, just wait.

We need a national education campaign about Sinclair. People think they are watching a legacy network (NBC, ABC, CBS) when actually watching Sinclair. There is NO TRANSPARENCY. Learn which of your local stations is owned by Sinclair & warn your friends.

Right, but it needs to be done in a broader way. It's opaque and very misleading.

Yes, knowing that you’re local news is an affiliate to one of the big four but not owned by them directly is critical. Local news has no real relationship to the network that is airing it. Sinclair has one of the largest footprints, and they are exceedingly dangerous.

Yup. My local Fox affiliate is actually operated by Tribune (and has a very decent independent newsroom), while my local ABC affiliate is owned by Sinclair and is getting crazier by the week.
