Obama says Google, Facebook, Twitter "have to have a conversation about their business model that recognizes they are a public good as well as a commercial enterprise. They're not just an invisible platform, they're shaping our culture in powerful ways."https://twitter.com/reason/status/968262408891334656 …

Why aren't we talking about helping users be part of the solution. Retweeting messages and pictures to criticize them is still spreading the picture. Why not give users stamps like "lie" block out the picture and send a msg with just one click

I believe it’s to inform others & give us the sense of urgency this issue requires. I’m already blocking more bots than usual this am. Others are building new platforms. Did you see that 2 members of @pussyrrriot are missing?

Brian have you covered why the Obamas are keeping reporters from their speeches?

Because if you are an institution that has paid money to hear them speak why the FUCK would I let a reporter in to blast it to the world? Example NBC and their absolute clutch on any Olympics clips.

The gag order is coming from the Obamas, not the organizations hosting the speech.

You know that for sure? I also understand it is standard practice. Can I come to your job to sit in on an employer training or meeting for free? WTF w/ you people. These speeches are not FREE.

Because it is Reason and they have no shame in their long-standing Obama hatred. Years ago I was a subscriber, interested in the Libertarian line until the ugly racism came poring out.

Fairness doctrine first. While we're all focused on Facebook... The NRA's buddy Sinclair radio is poised to become millions of American's sole news source. Millions of Americans are about to undergo right wing violent radicalization.
