Translation: We don't like it when people question our integrity, so we just want those people to go away.
-
I wish you guys would go away. You make up stories, in the meantime you're working on taking away all of our constitutional rights. Little by little one at a time.
-
The only way these guys will quit is when you and I are said and done. We must realize this fight is to the finish.

@brianstelter &@joshrogin: You live in 8 jurisdictions, from state => school district: Identity w/o a name. A verified constituent has MORE power than a verified account: Politicians listen. We'll propose@tdotrob's system for Twitter's Health Metrics.https://blog.twitter.com/official/en_us/topics/company/2018/twitter-health-metrics-proposal-submission.html …Thanks. Wouldn't change much. Blue checks talk to each other. Everyone else becomes background noise.

The NSA would be overjoyed.
-
If you noticed, the proposal was that it would still be optional and - more importantly - people who didn't or couldn't verify their identified could be universally hidden. Identity obfuscation fundamentally harms trust which fundamentally harms social stability.
-
Wow. Did you take that straight from the NSA handbook? Well done!
-
Do you know anyone in the media? The media is at an all-time low in trustworthiness. Do you know any politicians? All-time low in trustworthiness. Any corporations? All-time low. Point refuted. Sorry, bud.
-
Except you forget the part where because I "know" them (loose term here) and when I see their products in stores or see them on TV I can already know their reputation for lying or misleading.
-
Meanwhile, I see you on here today. I determine that your position isn't trustworthy or that you're a bot (for example). Tomorrow or later I run into you again but I can't recognize it's you so the process starts over and no trust is ever established ever.
-
Your point is that I "know" people and entities and don't trust them... and that's true, and that lack of trust is part of why everything is in shambles. Because companies have normalized exploiting people for cash and politicians made careers out of telling half truths.
