Australians and Canadians seem to be more resistant to the hysterical conspiracy meme-sharing and don’t exhibit such infantile credulity. I hope.

That may be true, but we can't pat ourselves on the back just yet. At least in Canada, the same kind of "Just hate the other side because they're the other side" tribalism seems to be gaining strength up here. We all need to stop voting sides and start picking on policies.

Agreed. But there's also been a lot of "Damn Liberals" or "Damn Conservatives" talk with no connection to real facts. I question some of PMs econ and veteran policies, but I've praised him for the most part of the job done so far. Never joined a party, never will.

The first step is to stop Russian cyber warfare. I'm not giving up my freedom to connect with people on social sites. Are you?

Since the troll posts tend to play into identified divides, banning social sites really won't solve it. They'll just move to conventional means like message boards and friendly blog/media, like Brietbart/Rebel media. But people should research things and read more that one source

What needs to be done is to make Facebook, Twitter and online media responsible and accountable for what they spread. Financially and legally.

It’s amazing how easily fooled Americans can be when they get most of their information from propagandists like @FoxNews with a healthy dose of false equivalency - BUT HER EMAILS! - from mainstream actual news outlets like @CNN and the networks.
