I can tell you this...you stand a better chance of preventing the DPRK from attaining a nuclear capable ICBM than you do passing sensible gun control policy in this Country...and it's no secret how I feel about the chances of the first one...

Nobody can give me a good reason why anyone needs a fruckin' assault weapon. It's absurd, in this day and age and in light of the mass killings that have happened and continue to happen, that they aren't banned outright. It's unconscionable. #guncontrol #GunControlNow

Nothing like sophistry to obscure the debate, hmm? AR platforms are a military style weapon used by police and paramilitary orgs around the world. The lack of select fire capacity does not preclude them from being 'assault weapons'.

A common thread. The school shooter today didn't act alone. He was assisted by the President, 52 Senators, and the NRA. I hope the NRA’s blood money HAUNTS these SOB every second of their lives!!!@HouseGOP @SenateGOP

Predictably, the usual suspects have emerged to exploit this tragic event, as they often do, by voicing their disdain for the Second Amendment. This is clearly a case where the root-cause is a failure to recognize and report a mental health issue.

Lot's of other countries have mentally ill people. Funny how they can't get military styled weapons and then go an a killing spree. FWIW...I was a soldier in the army, and I was a door gunner on my helicopter. If ppl want to shoot military weapons, they can enlist like I did.

interestingly they also have something else in common... they were all men. Maybe we should focus on fixing what's broken there.

that's a great place to start... believe me, I'm working on it every day. And I don't disagree something should be done re guns, but the same broken people are using trucks, cars, etc. let's also do the hard work of fixing what's broken.

I don’t understand how the NRA has this much control over politicians? It’s literally mind boggling how we still allow people to legally get these type of guns with no due diligence.

Yeah I saw donations made to candidates and Rubio led FL with $9,000 in contributions. How is that an amount that can sway doing what’s right with so many politicians? 9K ain’t shit.

That's direct contributions. Then there is the payments to the PAC's backing the candidates. In some cases that's closer to a million bucks.
