In any other news environment, a 1,175-point drop in the Dow would be the ONLY story. Right? But this market scare is competing with many other stories... http://bit.ly/2BdX9xU

Did you also think that historic highs in the market should be the “only story”? Absolutely ridiculous how some in media appear to be rooting against the markets because they associate market highs with @realDonaldTrump. This isn’t a game, the stock market impacts real people.

14 times the stock market had worse percentage losses under obama. Did you comment on any of those days? http://www.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3024-djia_alltime.html …

The difference is Obama didn't tie himself to market successes, where Trump takes all the credit.https://twitter.com/JayCarney/status/960601487666708480 …

Good time to recall that in the previous administration, we NEVER boasted about the stock market -- even though the Dow more than doubled on Obama's watch -- because we knew two things: 1) the stock market is not the economy; and 2) if you claim the rise, you own the fall.

Stelter you don't understand basic economics. Today’s Dow -4.6% plunge is large and concerning. But it is percentage - not points - that matters. And on that basis, today does not make the Top 25 of worst Dow days.pic.twitter.com/p2xWZUrFIR

Wow. Market plunged 1,175 points on rumors that you were considering going on a diet, Brian. Did you post something positive about #LadyDoritos today, because it's up 567. I doubt it is a coincidence.

We’ve been told by people like you for the last year that the only story that matters is the Russia fever dream, so it’s a very hard sell to suddenly make the stock market a story again just because you want to use it as a club against the president.
