The Prince tribute, with the city lit in purple and his "sign" illuminating around the outside of the stadium was incredibly touching.

The sport that regularly produces traumatic brain injury among its players is the sport that unifies the deepest tribal divides in the country. Only in America.

Strange how boxing never comes up in this conversation, when the whole object is to knock someone out. Go figure 🤔🤦‍♂️

Boxing has been under pressure for years on this subject actually. One difference is that it's no where near as popular, and another is that football, unlike boxing, is deeply rooted in high school sports culture (which makes it even more problematic).

Let’s see, baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey no injuries there right, so where do we draw the line? Chess

I think we can draw a line between a sport in which there are brain-injuries can be expected as a matter of normal play and a sport in which all we can say is that "there are injuries." Right?

Using your analogy Guess one first needs to identity regularly and type in each sport first wouldn’t they ?

Sure - a complicated but coherent question. There's "regular" injury, there's the "frequency" of regular injuries, and there's the "severity" of regular & frequent injuries. And likely more. But there are answers to these reasonable questions. Sports are not "all the same".

I think what is IMPORTANT is knowledge of those risks in life as is in “sports” one takes the best preconditions they can and bases their choices on that. Not to condemn one for them but do the best they can to prevent them should they choose
