The savvy response is to shrug off Rupert Murdoch's idea as wishful thinking. But is there a $$$ model that might work for both sides? http://bit.ly/2F3sH86 pic.twitter.com/sE73u5VjQQ

. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and German Chancellor Angela Merkel were deemed the most respected leaders globally, while U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin received the dubious distinction of receiving the worst approval ratings.

What are stats on FB users accessing MSM content on that platform anyway? @Facebook recently announced vast majority of its users want posts from friends and family prioritised over ANYTHING mainstream media companies are dishing out. They have to pay for what they don't want?

Look more deeply at what Facebook is actually doing. As for Murdoch, WSJ would make it in my book, Faux and NYPost would not.

What would Rupert Murdoch know about "trusted" publishers? Maybe he remembers tales his father told him. He certainly has had nothing to do with trust or journalism in the last 20 years.

Actually think this is an interesting idea. Why should FB or any site benefit from the work of outside journalists without having to compensate them for the content? It costs money to cover news... and sites steal, I mean 'aggregate', it for profit.

Facebook links to media content, they are not copying and pasting news stories and housing on their platform. Media outlets make ad revenue on traffic generated by Facebook users. If a story is 'aggregated' on Drudge impressions on the host site go through the roof.

It's time fb users organized in Union style orgs and demand payment from FB to be on their network and submit private data.

Sure media companies merge with internet providers (Comcast, Verizon, etc)… and block FB unless users pay. No more Net Neutrality, so why not?
