Notable: The cable news nets exercised caution when the missile alert came out. No breathless breaking news reports. In fact, none of the cablers reported the alert at all until it was ruled a false alarm.

#FakeNews is so bad that @CNN considers it "notable" when they don't make a mistake. To be fair, perhaps it is notable.

What if it had been an attack and the cable nets hadn’t covered it until a missile hit? Wouldn’t the question then be why there wasn’t coverage of the alert? Could/Should there have been coverage of the alert presented with healthy caution?

Actually, that's not good, what if it was actually happening? Minutes would mean life or death. Sounds like the whole system, right down to the television stations totally messed up.

Now, if only they could take this type of approach when covering our PRESIDENT. Before you report, check first: Is it newsworthy? Is it true? This might save you from having to retract multiple times a week.

This is a bad thing. People need to take an alert seriously and immediately seek shelter or they will die. Can’t have media playing it safe in the case of an actual nuclear launch.
