When @Oprah became a @60Minutes contributor last year, I took it as a sign that she might run. Why? Because "60" gave her a huge platform to reconnect with the public... http://mailchi.mp/cnn/rs-jan-7-2018 …

Oprah isn't qualified, most "actors"/"actresses" aren't...However she has far more intelligence, savvy..and an understanding of our political structures than Trump. talk about the unqualified leading..she would do a better job.

Why don’t we want professionals handling important jobs like the presidency anymore? I know it’s Oprah, but still. Like Donald Trump, what relevant experience does she have to draw upon when Kim Jong Un calls? That’s a very important question.

Obama had exactly zero foreign policy experience when he was elected. He never served as a Governor. He wasn't in the military. He never served in any of the major government agencies. He had only been sworn in for 2 years as a junior senator when he announced his run.

Well no shit, but that’s not a very high bar to clear. Pick a name out of the phone book at random if that’s the threshold you want to clear. My position is that the bar should be much *MUCH* higher. Hire the right person for the job, not just the right figurehead.

Great your "bar" may have to wait until after the 2020 elections. If the current joke-in-chief can be president and encourages you to vote for a pedophile for Senate in Alabama, then virtually anyone over 35 with common sense can be president. Your perfect world may have to wait.

Seriously. Fuck that bar. Oprah built a billion dollar media empire from scratch after growing up dirt poor and is one of the most respected people in the world. If her h2h numbers against Trump in 2020 look good, she should run.

Completely agree. The bar point is a straw man argument for those who likely support the pedophile endorsing joke-in-chief. My point was their bar has been washed away by their worship of their idol, the joke-in-chief.
