That's one hypothesis. Another hypothesis is that he's doing things that are problematic. However can we distinguish between these hypotheses?
-
I'll help
@Misty__Bella out there. Empirical research proves the hypothesis that trump's coverage is more negative because he does things viewed negatively in a society based on norms of decency, honesty and fairness aka hes doing things that are problematic. -
Like feeding coi fish and eating ice cream.
-
Because feeding koi fish and eating ice cream are generally accepted gateway behaviors to impeachable conduct, yes. (In case you're not sure, that's sarcasm. You're not being serious.)
-
Two examples of clear and misleading media bias used to “prove” negative behavior for viewers. Not sure how one wouldn’t classify these as negative coverage.
-
I don't know what media you are reading/watching. The media I'm looking at is concerned about: 1. Refusal to/lies about providing tax returns. 2. Violations of Emoluments clause and immense financial conflicts of interest that he pretends to resolve but doesn't.
-
3. Clear lies about he most trivial things (size of inauguration crowd) to the most important (obstruction of justice). 4. Firing an FBI director for not following a clear directive to protect an associate (Flynn), and lying about it.

He's priming for a big run, but his Nebraska constituents suffer from his votes against them. Believe him not!

You could take a few pointers on that subject as well, as a matter of fact.
