Did your publication constantly run "Obama's fans still fans of Obama" during his presidency? If the answer is no, then why are you constantly running "Trump's fans still fans of Trump" stories now?

He stayed near 40% approval for much of 2014, not far off from where Trump sits now. And all we got then were stories about elderly white Tea Partiers who didn't like him. Same as when he was popular.
-
It seems the constant here isn't the president's popularity or unpopularity. Instead, it's a persistent belief in newsrooms that rural white conservatives are somehow always the best gauge of what "real Americans" think, no matter who's in office or how he's doing.
-
"There's a popular African American Democrat in office? What do Heartland Voters think about that?" "There's an unpopular white Republican in office? What do Heartland Voters think about that?"
-
There are unfortunate sub-genres also: undercover tweets from main street diners, old men playing dominoes on someone's broken down old porch, people of walmart, etc.
-
Brian, why aren’t there countless stories asking black women how they knew Trump would do all the things he’s done?
-
Not even the so-called liberal dudes are interested in green lighting or writing about that. They’d rather whine about and amplify

Um. White voter from the Heartland, no longer GOP. Why don't they ask me?

The majority disapproves of his job performance. By continually focusing on the minority, you do your viewers a disservice.

Yeah, no, that’s a weak excuse. The Tea Party coverage started shortly after his Presidency began and didn’t stop til never.

I recall a story in WAPO in 2010 about how Black voters in N. Carolina were disillusioned with BHO. They couldn't wait to write that one!

That being said: it’s a story
@cnn is obsessed with but the real story is mass of rage building around@realDonaldTrump, his administration and his actions. The real story if a mass of population now engaged against him and actively following politicsThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
