How many other stories out there came from the same sources?

That is the problem, they refuse to be transparent by answering that OR how two "sources" managed to give them the same incorrect information. They hide behind the word "mistake," implying it is accidental, when their extreme consistent bias proves it is not.
-
The incorrect information, mind you, was a 4 instead of a 14...Can't possibly see how that could happen (rolls eyes)

Right, two separate people couldn't see the 1 in front of the 4..... uh huh, looks pretty clear in the published email. CBS also claimed they independently "confirmed" Sept, 4 with their sources..... yet Wapo somehow managed to see the date clearly when they busted CNN.pic.twitter.com/9r6udphkqm

You kind of answered your own question...Or is WashPo part of the conspiracy some days, not on others? If you were smarter, you'd get it

"Multiple sources" is what we were expected to believe before the story completely unraveled.
-
On-air correction claimed 2 different people read the same date to them. 2 options- 1 their "sources" wanted a viral negative story that reached more than the correction would or 2. Some one deliberately gave them bad info (Rope) so they would hang themselves and they did.
-
Compared to Trump...No contacts with Wikileaks or the Russians...Oh wait, we had some, but they were about adoption...Oh wait, no, they were Russian intelligence but we didn't use any info because it never came up...Oh yea, Wikileaks coordinated with us but CNN GOT THE DATE WRONG

With some research before running with too-good-to-check info from anonymous sources, you can correct things BEFORE publication.

I have it on good authority from an anonymous source that
@brianstelter and@davidfrum were together at a drug fueled gay orgy last year. -
Don't worry guys, I'll post a retraction later when I get enough retweets

You should weed out the mistakes before you publish them. Frum was talking about the fact finding process not the reporting/publishing process.
-
Edit? Not publish before facts are known, not engage in political propaganda, take ownership for the grave responsibility of protecting the people from the government that has the power to destroy them.

You need to expose who lied to you. Until you do that, you cannot be trusted.

“The leaks are real but the news is fake”. I suspect there’s one less leaker after this week.
