Lauer's bad behavior was hardly an industry secret. Why is everyone acting so surprised? https://goo.gl/hqssL6

I think it’s because those of us not in the industry, who just turn on the tv each morning, had no idea.
-
I am referring to Gurthrie, Hota and the rest
-
I thought the same thing while listening to them talk about being “heartbroken.” NO ONE on the inside was unaware of Lauer’s behavior, from the consensual relationships with subordinates to the creepy up-down looks he gave every female who passed through that studio. Awful.

That is who I was thinking about. Remember how he treated her?
-
I’ve heard he was a bully for a long time.

Obviously, with Lauer NBC felt they needed to do the right thing. But why is Donald Trump still facing no consequences a year after all those accusations? A year after he threatened to sue when he knew he never would? Why do you suppose your network stopped covering it?
-
Because he has no boss
-
Congress is supposed to be serving in an oversight capacity. And Americans are his boss. Only about 35% want him, apparently.
-
Polls are fine but Americans speak with their votes and that ship has sailed, for now.
-
Americans did speak with their votes and 3 million more voted for Clinton. That doesn’t even take into account voter suppression or chicanery. I am not even so sure that certain precincts were not selectively hacked, which is why we need a paper trail.

Nailed it!

What is wrong with famous men today.
-
It's not a "famous" man problem. It's a wide-spread man problem. It's just elevated and gains traction when the man is famous, which is the only difference.
-
It's all about power.

Yeah, it’s r e a l l y hard for me to believe that these seasoned journalists/television personalities (Guthrie, Kotb, Geist) didn’t know a thing about what was in the wind for Lauer until just now.
-
But see what is happening here. People are starting to point fingers at other women because they didn't know (experience it), didn't say, - that's wrong. Abusers are careful & steer away from people who they fear will out them. it's Jekyll & Hyde behavior.
-
I’m aware of that dynamic- beyond aware, ty! I made a point having nothing to do w/ the fact that those 3 likely didn’t experience harassment from Lauer. My opinion remains: I do not believe they hadn’t heard a whisper about Lauer. Too many were aware & it was on social media.
