Brian, honest question here. Why did you to choose this particular quote to highlight in your Tweet?
-
-
-
Because it’s the first time I’ve seen one of the accused in oct/nov cite alcoholism
-
It’s very similar to Spacey saying he was seeking treatment. There is a noticeable bias here to be frank with you
-
Brian's just testing the waters before his own skeletons are let loose. What shall it be, Brian? Blaming your dark perversions on gayness or alcoholism? I cannot wait to find out.pic.twitter.com/WwrjX4b1jN

Of all the quotes in the article, that is the one that you're going to tweet?
-
I think it’s notable because it’s the first time I’ve seen one of the men accused post-weinstein cite alcoholism. maybe others have and I’ve missed it
-
Scoble did. Alcohol may add fuel to the fire, but the problem is deeper + won't be solved by a trip to rehab. Quote focuses too much on his regret/apology + not enough on the impact his actions have had on the women.
-
But some significant personal effort at solving it is just as important as supporting their victims. One without the other doesn’t move the needle.

Amazing to think how many ppl with alcoholism don’t turn into (1) arrogant pricks (2) sexual assaulters who take advantage of their (ridiculous) power.
-
Exactly.

So here's the message to all women: if a powerful man assaults you, he can get counseling. If your husband has a consensual affair 30 yrs ago, it's your fault & you're an enabler. You will forever carry his burden around your neck until the day you die.
-
This makes me laugh cry because that’s pretty much how it gets handled.
-
It makes me so incredibly angry.

Yes. Yes.

Brian - anyone, including you, contemplating story on how coverage of Hillary Clinton was impacted by these numerous male journalists now accused of sexual harassment/workplace sexism? My list so far:https://twitter.com/mrsmaris/status/932650491447840769 …

Ah, the ol’ “I was drunk” excuse. Funny how for a man it means he shouldn’t be held responsible, but for a woman it means she was asking for it.

Good luck in your recovery Glenn, hopefully on your journey out of addiction you will recognize that YOU (not the booze) are responsible for your behavior and somehow make honest amends to those you've hurt.
