I have an honest question. How did the @washingtonpost know to show up at 4 unrelated peoples' doorsteps and ask them about 40 year allegations that no one's ever heard before? I don't know if he is guilty, but I do not understand this.

Man eats hot dog. Not news. POTUS eats hot dog. Maybe news. Man has historical sex crime allegation. Minor news. Potential senator has historical sex crime allegation. Major news.
-
that wasn't the question though could be they "heard something" could be they were fed by opposition in the end the events of a single night and a 14 yr old's account of it no real pattern of abuse
-
The assistant DA has confirmed it was known he dated HS girls. Victims find it hard to speak up. Who would have listened in 1985 or 1990?
-
Now someone is willing to listen and something can be done about it. WaPo has more weight than local paper.
-
and the
@NYTimes accused McCain of having an affair this may be true or it could be the product of a 14-yr-old's imagination there is no pattern of abuse -
Adults is a different question and you know that. This story gives an example of why victims don't speak up because police would not believe them.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-28971058 …

Or they could have be threatened. My abuser said people would think I did something that made this happen. He also said my dad &older brother would end up in jail, because they would go after him &beat the shit out of him when they found out.
-
I’m so sorry that happened to you! Sending you
and support! -
Thanks for your support. I never told anyone but my late sister. She kept my secret. Shortly before she passed away she encouraged me to tell my family about it. First words out of my older brothers mouth were I know where he lives now.
-
I’m so glad your sister could support you. Don’t forget, we are all here for you now! Your brother is trying to show his support, too.

-
Thanks again. After being silent about it all these years, it makes me feel better /stronger talking about it.
-
Thanks Teresa, for coming forward. And I'm so happy you have some support. Best to you, and I hope you find continued strength in numbers.

My mom understood why I spent so much time in my bedroom after I told her. She also understood why I hated getting dressed up & people making a fuss about it. I didn't like the attention & still really don't like it.
-
I was never in a position like yours, but it sounds heartbreaking. I hope you'll get stronger and recover much of your former self. You deserve that.

People defending Roy Moore need to focus on the fact that he was a District Attorney, one who had power and used it against these young girls. He is evil.

Exactly!

Ah. WAPO reporters “just showed up at their doors.” Who called the reporters with stories & contact info? Just bull dog reporting? Most reporters are fed info for reasons.
@TedJoy71@HowardKurtz@brianstelter@JBFlint@Sulliview@cathleendecker -
And good reporters--and these are good reporters--find facts and make determinations on their own. The Post story demonstrated deep reporting. If this was a Dem candidate, would you have the same reaction?
-
Looking forward to NYT, LAT, & WAPO assigning teams of good reporters to dig deeper on Kamala Harris’s relation to Willie Brown & her rise. Or is that old news? Sens Blumenthal & Warren each have interesting back stories. Will CBS et al jump on board? Then let’s see my reaction.
-
Warren's backstory has been covered to death (including, yes, the NYT and WAPO), Blumenthal publicly apologized for overstating his Vietnam service. We're discussing Roy Moore, a sex abuser, here. Is this a guy you want to be defending? At all?
