That's great but... Is there any chance the people being rescued gave their consent to be filmed and broadcast? (alt. isn't to not rescue)

Not that I necessarily agree but isn't the general rule that if you're in a public place and a news event is happening consent is moot?

Kind of, it's more about a reasonable expectation of privacy. Do you reasonably expect to be filmed while your life is being saved?
