I actually think that was the case. He should not be fired for this statement. But he should have never been hired in the first place.

But while CNN is doing some housekeeping, whoever initially hired Lord should be fired also. He and his ideas were not deserving of airtime.
-
Are you sure you're not the Nazi?
-
I could never even be mistaken for one.
-
No you just want to fire people with normal opinions and then purge the people who dared to hire them
-
His opinions are not normal, and the fact that they were treated as such is why there should be firings.
-
They aren't normal to weirdo Nazi types who want to see their political opponents attacked and silenced. You're SA and don't even realize it
-
You mistake the refusal to respect intolerance as being intolerant. There is an ocean between the two.

CNN bent over backwards to have extreme positions represented on panels and by doing that they lost a lot of viewers, including me!
-
It would have been barely tolerable if they'd cut off his mike after his time, but most of the program centered around his inane blustering.

There are ways to represent multiple sides of an issue and still have reasonable, intellectual, and respectful discussions.
-
Exactly. In the great debate of "toilet lid up vs toilet lid down" no one needs to suggest pooping on floor. Out of scope.

Does Lord really expect CNN to contort itself into defending an unapologetic "sieg heil?" They fired Griffin despite apology, "joke" defense
-
I'm sure Lord has apologized for his Nazi salute. He did apologize, right? Like
@andersoncooper apologized to him?https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2017/05/20/anderson-cooper-jeffrey-lord-president-trump/101910560/ … -
Jeffrey Lord like apologies. Remember when he invited
@Bakari_Sellers to apologize to the nation for slavery?http://crooksandliars.com/2016/11/jeffrey-lords-demands-apology-slavery … -
Wow....i missed that segment. I think I would have smashed the tv screen!
-
But that wasn't enough to make CNN think "Maybe this isn't the guy". Had to go Nazi first.
