So the lesson for Sunny is - there are degrees of dishonesty; and some are appropriate, passable or not really "wrong"?

But assuredly ignored, on air anyways.

Wasn't it George Washington who famously said, "I cannot tell a falsehood."?

Trump is not telling falsehoods he is lying. Falsehoods = no intent to mislead, its a mistaken belief. Lying= intent to deceive!
-
The definition of falsehood does not include intent. You and I can be 99% sure Trump is lying but it's hard to actually know sometimes.
-
Exactly. He is straight lying on purpose.

But if he believes some of the falsehoods he's saying? Isn't that a story, too?
-
He knows he is lying whether he believes in his lies or not.

Higher bar b/c you're a journo with corporate guidelines? Otherwise, if you intentionally tell me something false, it's a lie.
-
The question is whether it's intentional. You and I may believe the president is lying but it's not journalists' job to flat-out guess.
-
I can't guess the president's intent, nor do I want to. I will judge it as to whether what a president says, is backed up by facts.
-
To be fair, I think it's safe to say that there are many times we can confirm the president has lied. But we don't know all.
-
I need the facts reported. I'll determine what is truth or not. I don't need debate on terminology for a lie.
-
Right, and that's what Brian's doing. You accused him of bowing to corporate pressure for not reporting his opinions and guesses.
-
There was a question mark after the first sentence. I engage with Brian frequently and often compliment him.

I don't think you appreciate how ridiculous this sounds to those of us who do not live in your bubble.
