As a technical matter, what's to stop networks from doing it anyway?

Could the WH kick offenders out of the pool?
-
Then maybe all orgs should boycott WH pressers until transparency is returned.
-
I'm not opposed to that - but that doesn't answer the question. (Because I don't know the answer, but I am curious.)
-
I don't actually think boycotting would help anything, but at the same time, the public needs real info & media needs to leverage its power.
-
Its gotten outrageous. Curious to see how outrageous it has to get before the media starts pushing back.

If a press secretary lies in a briefing without reporters' audio or video, did it really happen or is it "fake news"?

The WH shouldn't be able to "forbid" news orgs from doing anything in regards to the 1st Amendment, this should say, Press agreed to...
-
Now, imagine your responsibility if GWB, WJC, PBO did this...you would stop giving their spokespeople & Administration "free" attention and
-
go directly to the people.

What's the penalty- lack of access? Reporters should do it anyhow.

Good grief. The country to our south is turning into N. Korea/Russia. And 45 says Cuba has human rights issues? Freedom of the press-gone?
