It's pretty clear why she lost, the answers are just unacceptable to political punditry

-
Not really. In counterfactual w/o Comey letter she probably wins. That's interesting and worth looking at in detail. As are effects of leaks
-
Probably not, polls were tightening days before. Pattern was when Trump didn't make major news, he'd pull into a tie.
-
Fair.. but Silver disagrees and presents data in favor of his view. I find it an interesting ?. We all know she was a shitty candidate
-
Silver had her winning but even he had the race tightening before Comey. It's all conjecture.
-
I don't think it's pure conjecture:https://www.google.com/amp/s/fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-comey-letter-probably-cost-clinton-the-election/amp/ …
-
The only way Comey's letter as a cause for Clinton's loss works is if you believe Republicans & right leaning indies stay home without it.
-
I don't buy that. They were going to vote and always vote for Trump.

Because they would have to admit they played a role in her loss. The media was interested in ratings than policy. It was hype over substance

a few less eye roll among your regular
@cnn contributors and@johnkingCNN wld be a start. HRC's 65MM voters want her unfiltered analysis -
also, will the media ever try to redeem themselves w/ honest accounting of their own role?
-
They definitely eff'd that all up - they treated the election like a reality show nearly as much as 45 himself did. Investg.Journ. was MIA.

Media (ie male journalists) never warmed up to Hillary. Like most men they just don't like the smartest person in the room being a gal.

Some media is also insistent on there being only one reason for her loss (she was bad) and that she can never say otherwise.

@brianstelter=1 of VERY few journalists who paused DURING campaign cycle to self-analyze HIMSELF for sexism. & it shows! Bravo. Who's next? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I agree with Nate. While Joe Biden sets up a PAC, Hillary discusses her impressions & gets heck for it. I guess she is supposed to retire.

Also: each reporter picks ONE factor, does his "HRC deluded, that's not what caused loss" thing. But HRC's analysis is MULTIPLE factors

Don't know why journalists are so upset by the idea they got played by Russia/Wikileaks. It's just going to happen again if they don't learn
