Maybe CBS will let Pelley say goodbye. No comment yet. Network's "low ratings" rationale is odd, since CBS has been #3 at 6:30 for 20+ years

With Pelley on the way out at CBS,
@DavidMuir will be the longest-serving Big 3 nightly news anchor... and he's only had the job for 3 years -
Brian Williams actually became the longest-serving anchor very soon after he started that job, due to Rather leaving & Jennings' death.
-
Dan Rather has been on fire lately over Trump. Any chance they bring him back?

Who is your guess?
-
I would guess Norah O'Donnell, but giving her the job would cause a shakeup at CBS This Morning.

I'll miss Pelley. But his ratings were sagging and he'll anchor until a replacement is found. How is that "shocking"?
-
The ousting of a top anchor, with no notice, revealed via a Page Six item shocks me. Networks know how to do this stuff gracefully...
-
Like Comey finding out he's fired by hearing it on TV. No class, CBS. Love Scott Pelley.

Well, that blows. I like Scott Pelley. Mr. Calm & neutral in his delivery style. Didn't want /need P.T. Barnum telling me WTF was going on.
-
He reminded me of the old Cronkite/Murrow delivery - calm, sturdy, reassuring - no bullshit - no showmanship. You could trust him.
-
Apparently, that's not enough these days... so fuck all that cuz who needs news you can trust, right?

The only anchor I watch bc of his no-nonsense presentation of the news. If the news is constantly hyperbolic & speculative--it's garbage.
-
One of the few newsmen who understood he was not the center of the story. At least he'll still be on 60 Minutes.
