You're missing the point here Brian. The whole thing has an un-American odor in the current political context.

These stories should quote experts. Like
@aschwa02, who told me: "There is no way anything will happen at the FCC." Or@jonathanwpeters -
I think you're being naive.
-
How so? If the govt actually takes action, I'll be all over it
-
I do not trust the trump regime to play by the rules. Free press and judges are our only protection. I fear the onslaught of power.

Right -- the story says the FCC is not reviewing the merger

For some reason The Hill has an incredible ability to hype really weak stories. Happens often.

In what way is this usual? What cause would they have to "investigate" a bleeped word after 10pm?
-
FCC "reviews" every complaint it receives

Isn't it odd that 2 days before the hill story, the FCC commissioner went on Cavuto and explained he needed complaints to investigate?pic.twitter.com/3XKafzq0GB
-
He would have known of complaints before appearing on Cavuto, he solicited on Cavuto, and THEN said he had complaints. That's a concern.
-
I'm a radio guy X 13 years, I deal with the FCC, and I can tell you from experience this is abnormal.
-
How? It seems like the Imus thing to me. On-air personality says something that offends people.
-
Imus' comment was racist not "profane" and not subject to FCC discipline. This issue is about safe harbor and profanity vs obscenitypic.twitter.com/lQ2ZbgrgGg
