If an industry approach is strictly 'fact-check', they'll fail to report the other side. It's still selection bias.

Journalists/outlets are too eager to eat, need to stop salivating and be patient.

Whether they're "right" or not, there's no need to blow their loads early, otherwise they'll desensitize everyone.
