@brianstelter Trump TV faced big hurdles. But, if he left Twitter—or was banned—could he spark a similar SM outlet with his mere presence?
-
-
Highly doubtful. His following is not even in the Top 70 worldwide. His audience would be limited to diehards
-
Not sure how you'd define "diehards" but the Train Wreck Effect would trigger—and the media would follow.
-
Media would follow, but only to report his statements on other outlets.
-
So, his "tweets" get delivered anyway—probably on Twitter too—practically as fast as they do know.
-
Agreed. But no value for the new platform because users won't have a reason to join.
-
@brianstelter FOMO, first & unfiltered, tribal, etc. Trump doesn't need Twitter to continue to leverage SM—in a yuge way. -
The tribal diehards will follow. Others won't. And without them, there isn't enough mass to justify a new platform
-
Let's return to the original premise. Hurdles to create a TV Network pale in comparison to a messaging platform.
