Many members of the media, myself included, condemned the Antifa protest at Tucker Carlson's home. But there's one claim that has been contested. Carlson said a protester cracked his front door. I asked DC police. The police said they saw no sign of that.https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/16/media/tucker-carlson-cracked-door/index.html …

Violent protest is never OK. Obviously. But journos did a disservice in this case by believing the Carlsons and not consulting other sources. The police report suggests Carlson exaggerated his claims.
-
i quoted from the police report in my very first story about the disturbance. the police say they are investigating protesters who broke the law.

Someone spray painting a driveway is getting more coverage than a group of white nationalists arrested with a rocket launcher. Do better. These decisions are shaping the discourse in a blatantly unhealthy way and paving the way for more violence. And none of you seem to care.

Thank you for saying this!

I can’t even convey how wrong this is. I know “media” is Brian’s beat, but that doesn’t have to mean kissing the ass of other media. Pretty a responsible journalist in his position could do a story on this kind of imbalanced coverage. Not Brian though.
-
Hey
@brianstelter, when you select a white nationalist's story of woe & amplify it & are silent on the millions of brown & black ppl who are terrorized by detention & deportation (which Carlson supports on tv), you take the side of white nationalism.

How is this ‘clear’?

Seriously — this is according to whom?pic.twitter.com/KJ9TPuI0k0

i watched the video. "we know where you sleep at night." a threat.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4IvFEqIj_A …
-
They're standing in front of his house, of course they know where he sleeps. Statement of fact, not "clearly" a threat. You goddamned snowflakes are so pathetic.
-
Exactly this. It was a peaceful protest with one person causing property damage (and legal observers attending) and somehow it has been blown up into The World’s Greatest Threat To Freedom. Stelter needs to simmer down.
-
it's a frakking call and response rhythmic chant, to rhyme with "fight." what a snowflake. if that's seltzer bottle's idea of a threat, he'd better not read any odgen nash or he'll poop his pants

So what are you saying Stelter -- he made the whole thing up? -- you really need to get a real job
-
Of course I'm not saying that. I think it's unacceptable for protesters to show up at a TV host's home and shout threats. I've said that repeatedly.

Well from an Engineering standpoint, since the people were pushing and hammering on the outside, the crack would have appeared on the inside. But who needs a full analysis when you are scooping headlines.
-
Tucker had more than 24 hours to say this between when I asked for comment and when I published. He didn't.

When you say that it's "clear" that they shouted threats, what's your sourcing on that?
