I just reread the 1st amendment and I still can't find where it says Congress should make no law that abridges the right for an unprofessional bed-wetting performance artist to monopolize press conferences and hold a press pass. But it must be there because CNN lawyers said so.
-
you're right but that's not the standard, is it? No law abridging a free press, freedom of speech. If it was something else, maybe they could ban you....but they can't.
-
You're a lawyer. I am not. Perhaps you can help me (sincerely). Are there governing terms to a press pass? There must be some Is it right or privilege? What justifies removal? Unlimited unprofessional behavior just accepted? Is it a lifetime pass regardless of professionalism?
-
from an article i read, the Secret Service can only ban a reporter if he/she is a threat to pres or family. Not you, I, pres or anyone else can judge "professionalism". I'm sure they must apply but it can't be based upon behavior. Beyond that I don't know.
-
Thanks for the honest discussion. My guess is pass terms will be referenced here. Often "professionalism" terms are vague so judging behavior will happen. Just like when HR terminates an unprofessional employee. They assess and point to policy. I believe this will go same route
-
Honest, civil discussion can be good. HR usually doesnt terminate for "unprofessional", they use something concrete. There apparently is precedent for Sec Serv removing security....and it doesnt look good for trump.

Throw in the intern who was so haughty & mightily pissed & who gave Jim the "How Dare YOU Eyes" when she tried to PULL the microphone out of his hand & he wasn't giving it up but TSK for allowing that lying scum to get in one more lie -100's of companies coming into the country!
-
She just about assaulted him by grabbing the mike HE was holding.
-
By the look of her she's very impressed being a WH intern...she's doing the bidding of a potus who belongs in a mental institution but she's oblivious to that fact. All she knows is she's in the White House and rubbing elbows with...T R A S H!
-
I know! I feel bad for her and hope she grows into a thinking woman.
-
I'm sure she already believes she is a thinking "woman." I feel nothing but contempt for ANYONE who takes a job under this regime.pic.twitter.com/QvC7YTNMKQ

Legal question: does that mean any journalist that applies for a WH press pass, they should be given one, and if not, they would have a case to sue on basis of first amendment?

It's going to be funny as hell when CNN has to pay Trump's legal fees.
-
Nice. Supporting the end of a free press. I bet you call yourself a patriot too.
-
The press is still free to print whatever they like.
