Now, pull Lou Dobbs. If it isn't this it's some other anti-immigrant screed.

My fantasy du jour: that Fox Whatever would find their soul & turn from their endless, toxic, bullshitpalooza & just take a turn toward truth. They don't even have to say they're sorry for hoodwinking the ... limited; just let them see their complicity & help to end the madness.
-
Bring back the Fairness Doctrine, updated with language applicable to the current media environment. Fox "News" and right-wing hate radio can still exist, but not without a regulatory check on the half-truths and outright lies in which they traffic daily.
-
I agree. I have two fantasies (well, three, but we all know the third...): Fairness Doctrine resurrected and Citizens United buried. Forever.
-
The third fantasy would be that everyone at Fox "News" and hate radio be immediately replaced by REAL journalists. Not only would that solve the media problem, it would also provide rich comedy goodness watching Lou Dobbs, etal banging a tin cup for nickels and dimes.

Not good enough. Dobbs must apologize himself.

But we can do more! We can stop doing business with
@FoxNews advertisers until they discontinue@LouDobbs show. I'll be shutting my@CapitalOne account and will filter out auto companies as I shop for new cars.#boycottFoxNews https://www.foxnewsadvertisers.com/2018/10/16/top-fox-news-advertisers-3q2018-quarterly-summary/ … - 1 more reply

What are they going to do with the ad revenue they got from airing it?
-
Exactly. And also Fox: We rang the bell and know we cannot un-ring it...but please don’t boycott our advertisers.

So Fox didn’t feel the need to condemn it the first time. It was only worthy of condemnation after a mass shooting, a second airing & widespread criticism. I suspect that w/o yesterday’s tragic event Fox wouldn’t have issued any condemnation at all & aired the segment again.
-
Yep. My thoughts exactly.

So now they condemn it even though originally they liked it enough to repeat the episode?

They can't unring that bell. Lou Dobbs needs to feature a retraction.
-
Then he'll have to retract everything he airs every day, because I don't think there is a non-conspiracy-theory fueled Lou Dobbs segment in existence.
