Is Trump able or willing to control the forces that he has unleashed? Is he able or willing to tamp down the fire that he has fueled? His actions on Friday strongly suggested that he's not. So what does that mean for the rest of us? https://mailchi.mp/cnn/rs-oct-26-2018 …

For the media it should mean deal in reality and stop watching and waiting for the Pivot from him, his base, and his supporters in media. You also have a responsibility to not give airtime to those spreading lies and Conspiracy Theories just because you want to appear “fair”.

It’s disrespectful to your viewers. It’s one thing to have a healthy debate with different ideology. It’s another to give Corey Lewandowski or others

That you need to also address the fact that someone who is eager to fuel such a fire is also someone willing and eager to cheat to steal an election, and what the ramifications of that are. Because if someone stole an election to tear apart the fabric of society...

I mean, Brian, is there any sign that he doesn't want to do the greediest, most obnoxious, most hurtful thing he possibly can do --ever-- unless not doing that thing might put him in position to do something even greedier, more obnoxious, and more hurtful? Nothing comes to mind.

It means CNN is going to continue to overreact to Trump and call him Hitler. Compare Trump to ISIS. Call his supports a cult. Call black Trump Supporters Token Negroes. Compare Trump supporters to Nazis. Constantly whine how our Democracy is in peril when it's not. Keep going?

totally normal to have a POTUS who has conspired w/Russians, lies on abg 16x/day, tweets memes of knocking out reporters & HRC, asks 2nd amendment people to go after pol enemies, praises Nazi’s as fine people and exploded the deficit with his swamp tax cuts for his $bill budspic.twitter.com/SjLZncef4G

Use reporters to find facts and then give them airtime to report them. Be fact-based. Don’t play his entertainment game. This is not fake wrestling or a reality show. This is our democracy.

I feel like there is something sinister here. I believe Brian knows exactly what he is doing. He went there to make sure the trump/cnn relationship-feud continues b/c it’s good for ratings. I hope I’m wrong.

For CNN to be stoking some kind of Family Feud entertainment show in the current era of nazis, bombs, and AR-15s would be very cynical and dangerous. I hope that’s not happening.

Are you willing to control the forces that you have unleashed? Are you willing to tamp down the fire you have fueled? Your actions this week (and since the 2016 election) suggest that you are not. So what does that mean for the rest of us? Self-awareness is not your strength.

It means nothing. He’s not commanding the strongest military in world history and the full prosecutorial power of the DOJ. You guys really should stop pretending Trump is just some 70 yr old sun setter throwing his slipper at the tv from a Lazy Boy in a living memorial home

Failing to differentiate between the POTUS and a news channel is the epitome of delusion. If I dislike CNN, I turn it off. What options do I, individually, have to protect myself from an executive branch that labels me a criminal abetter if I vote against him?

^One-up'ism. I'd argue that media outlets have much more reach, and have pushed their agenda for a much longer, sustained period of time. Both sides manipulate Americans to do their bidding. If CNN isn't going to recognize their role, don't expect a hard-headed Trump to do it.

No actually it will get better, were more protected now and stronger then we've ever been, minorities are stronger than they've ever been under @realDonaldTrump and its going to get better and better, CNN does not want this to keep happening, so they have to stop it.
