Yesterday this Colbert writer tweeted, "Whatever happens, I'm just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh's life." Today she says she regrets the "tone-deaf attempt at sarcasm:" https://twitter.com/ArielDumas/status/1048965634380521472 …

Then shame on you, too. To completely neglect that you have had a role in directing abuse towards her is hugely disappointing. Saying you understand online abuse towards women is more intense makes it even worse that you did it and won’t just apologize
-
Also, her tweet was a joke. It was clearly a joke. As a joke writer, she is used to a range of reactions. I don’t think you have to be a genius to see that the apology is because trolls were threatening to hurt her or get her fired. Reposting w/o that context is bad “reporting”

Guys, guys, I think we can all agree Brian is the real victim here. (That was sarcasm.)

Last time I remember Stelter being this defensive and tweeting at everyone was when he was arguing with Amy Siskind, telling her she was overreacting in her thinking we’re headed for Gilead. Just odd that he’s acting like this again with something related to Kavanaugh.

So you know better about bad fiath attacks and their consequences AND yet you still fall for it. That's sad. You need to do some soul-searching.

I wonder if he will now take responsibility for any threats, harassment, or possibly stalking because of this. I bet he won’t. As long as it’s not his life.

This makes it even worse. Why fanning the flames when you already knows the outcome?

"Let me highlight how I, too, am a victim, then pretend to acknowledge how online abuse against women is unfathomably worse, in this case because I facilitated it." Insincerely, White Male Privilege
