"A reporter for an NBC affiliate in Minnesota was fired Friday, one day after he was spotted wearing a 'MAGA' hat while covering a Trump rally for the local TV station." Cmon, man! Every reporter knows that wearing campaign clothes is a blatant violation…https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/salvadorhernandez/reporter-trump-maga-hat-fired …

It’s okay for a reporter to be the mouthpiece for a political party but you can’t wear their clothes.

It’s an industry standard rule. The employer had no issue with his highly partisan personal social media.

I guess what you’re saying is that this TV station has a code of ethics that CNN MSNBC ABC CBS NBC NYT WAPO et al don’t, or won’t apply? Got it thanks for clearing this up.

🤣 Who on CNN wore MAGA hat? The POTUS literally consults with a partisan mouth piece on the one major “news” outlet you didn’t list. Girl, you’re hilarious. Thanks!

Coming from you that’s rich. I guess obvious bias doesn’t count huh? This is why the media is so hated.

The problem here is that the reporter becomes the story, which is not journalism. Reporters must be impartial observers of events, not participants. Most do a remarkably good job. But viewers conflate opinion panels and shows with news, so it is easy to paint with one brush.

Serious question on media bias.We still don’t know:Ford’s sexual/substance abuse history, previous accusations of sex assualt, microscopic year book examination. Interviews with those who partied with her (ie UNC woman), ties to left wing orgs... yet Bk has had microscopic exam

He may have wanted a Trump job? Getting fired for wearing Trump's hat is like interviewing for the White House. I'm sure there is room for him. It's a revolving door.
