Cable ratings from the Kavanaugh hearing yesterday say a lot about who is fired up about this whole process. Fox had more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined during the hearing. Fox News: 5,691,000 MSNBC: 2,892,000 CNN: 2,515,000https://dailycaller.com/2018/09/28/fox-news-ratings-kavanaugh-hearing/ …

Respectfully, I think you're reaching the wrong conclusion with incomplete data. The broadcast networks all carried the hearings, too. We see this frequently with news: Fox News is #1 for an event (it has a very loyal base) but Fox is only ~20% of the total audience for the event

The important thing here IMO, Brian, is that Fox experienced the biggest bump from the hearings among cable news networks.

And IMO "cable" doesn't tell you the whole story of what happened yesterday. It just advances a partisan narrative for you. All the cablers were up 2-4x from their usual ratings, but the key was broadcast, thus, a big total audience

We were having a respectful disagreement over how to interpret the numbers, I don't think it was necessary to accuse me of trying to "advance a partisan narrative."

To recap: Noting cable news ratings in which @FoxNews came out on top - biased! Not comparing apples to oranges or whatever other metric that'd make @FoxNews look not as good - right on!

My story has all the info about Fox coming out on top, too. I pushed back on her assumption that Fox ranking #1 (as it usually does) is a big sign of something.http://money.cnn.com/2018/09/28/media/ford-kavanaugh-tv-ratings/index.html …

I don't see exactly where you refute her claim that Fox experienced the biggest bump. You basically give the Fox numbers and don't discuss the significance of them in context at all in this article despite what appears to be a massive surge.

Actually Brian's tweet was trying to downplay FOX numbers wanting to talk about broadcast stations. And then the funniest thing happened, the most biased liberal only narrative allowed con man tried to play the you are a partisan card.

Having the largest increase over its average rating is not an assumption and it is indicative of a more energized and interested right.
