How about starting with providing the context instead of burying the lede?

Would that be the Schmidt-approved framework, or an accurate context? (As another illustration to clarify my question, has Schmidt ever stated that Hillary Clinton's home server was almost meaningless in context?)

How bout helping—doing your part, to protect the country and by incorporation, your paying subscribers from the treasonous vandals who sell all of us out on a daily basis? Ever heard of no harm, no foul? we’re in 7th game of NBA finals; discretion can be better part of valor.

Is it trump behind this? We all know he wants to fire him, the question is, what can be done to protect FBI, Mueller investigations...is this constitution crisis? How can 25th amendment be applied if the Congress is so corrupted?!? This is a real crisis, take it on streetS...

Horseradish! It took WaPo less than a day to get people ACTUALLY IN THE ROOM, who dispute Mikes opinion piece. This wasn’t a factually substantiated article. It was mired in hearsay and wild conclusions. Then, they tweet it out as “Rosenstein, the man who appointed Mueller”. Junk

This was clearly, unequivocally, agenda driven and deliberate. Why didn’t they say Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, instead of Rosenstein, the man who appointed Mueller? They took months to come up with secondhand accounts. Then they decided, arbitrarily, not to give weight to sarcasm!

If Rosenstein resigns, recuses himself, or gets fired we will blame the @nytimes for this irresponsible opinion piece!

I hope @nytmike will not regret writing such a news unworthy story that may trigger a constitutional crisis by the unstable genius in the WH. Reporters need to use common sense and weigh their decisions.

Another media story.. @JasonMillerinDC alleged to have given an "abortion inducing pill" to woman. Is it a pre-requisite to be a perverted GOP operative to be on CNN.? @ReliableSources .. Seriously..how many find a home on your shows.. Maybe @davidzurawik or @ErikWemple can ask.

Mueller needs to finish and let the people know what he found so we can move on as a country. He’s got the entire DOJ/executive branch hamstrung on everything. If Trump does anything, everyone screams obstruction. Bad for everybody

The New York Times acts as if its primary duty is to its sources every damn time. It values sources over truth and treats its readers with utter contempt. Access Journalism is a cancer.

So the NYTs wants us to believe rod asked someone if they wanted him to wear a wire? Like who? Who would he have asked that question? That's the only way this story changes is if they say who he asked.

The NYT is the paper of record, still. If your story lands on A1 there's a responsibility to not f*ck it up & send our very screwed up country into a new crisis. People are frustrated bc it seems from Iraq to Clinton's emails etc, NYT is there w flawed stories that contributed.

Several journalists working within NYT have expanded on your final sentence, from 2003 - 2017. In 2004, NYT even addressed its own departures from accuracy in reporting the 1964 murder of Kitty Genovese. (See @TheWitnessFilm for accurate reporting)
